General
I reserve the right to decline a commission request.
I draw in my style, if requested for OC/your character I would be able to adjust the style accordingly. I
will NOT copy the style of another artist.
The client will receive digital versions of the commission (.JPG/.PNG), the only exceptions are
“Paintings” and “Real People Portraits”.
Client and artist will not share any kind of information with third person parties.
Copyright
Personal commissions are for personal use only. Meaning sharing on social media and/or using as profile
picture ONLY with proper credit, as well as printing to display in a private environment.
For personal commissions you are NOT allowed to use the illustration for commercial use or to gain
profit (i.e. selling merchandise featuring the illustration, using the illustration in a game, printing the
illustration in an artbook or any book/magazine, selling it as an adopt, etc.).
The client is not allowed to use the illustration or any part of the illustration, in an AI training model or
modify it through AI software’s in any way shape or form.
The client is not allowed to use or exploit the illustration as an NFT.
I retain all rights to the created illustration and I am allowed to use it in my portfolio and social media,
unless agreed upon otherwise beforehand. This includes the final illustration itself as well as the creation
process.
I can post the illustration on my social media and portfolio whenever I want unless agreed on a deadline
date (gift, birthday, reveal, ...). If you don’t want the illustration published, let me know before hand as
this may incur additional copyright charges. A copyright charge is +50% of the final price for the artwork.
I reserve the right to livestream for entertainment/education and record the creation of the illustration for
educational purposes on social media, unless agreed on otherwise for example: not publishing before date of reveal (date, birthday, ...) or if client has bought an NDA option.
The NDA option is only applicable if the client has stated they would like to get it BEFORE I start working on the project. The NDA charge is +50% of the final price for the artwork.
The client will receive two versions of the illustration: one marked with my signature and one marked
with my signature and text saying “Commission, do not use”. The signs are placed at the bottom of the
illustration.
The unmarked version is available only under the assignment of copyright, if it was discussed beforehand.
Deadlines and Turnarounds
Depending on my workload the turnaround will change, normally it will be around 4-12 weeks. I am still a
university student and they expect us to spend more time working at home rather than at campus.
If there is a specific deadline (gift, birthday, ...) please let me know before I start working and the
payment amount might change depending on how far away the deadline is. The base rush fee is +15% of the final price for the artwork.
Cancelations and Refunds
I reserve the right to cancel a commission, no matter the completion if:
- I can no longer deliver the commission for personal reasons (i.e. family crisis, sickness or
injuries, ...). I will provide a full refund.
- The client behaves inappropriately with me. I will not provide a refund.
- The client behaves inappropriately online (i.e. homophobia, racism, harassment, ...). I will
not provide a refund.
If a commission is canceled for any reason, the client cannot claim the final work nor the
work-in-progress piece.
Payment
The prices are 14€ per hour, based on the Netherlands hourly age for 21+ year olds.
Payment will be done through PayPal and VGen only.
Updates
Depending on the complexity of your commission and my current workload, I may complete the
commission a bit faster or slower than my average turnaround time (unless we agreed on a specific
deadline).
I will be sending you a minimum of 4 updates, corresponding to the phases of my process, usually with a
date of a possible update, in order to keep you informed.
Please note that the dates of possible updates are only indicative. Follow-up emails or DMs are
welcome, but please give me time to respond if you haven’t heard from me for a bit, please don’t spam
my inbox or social media DMs. c:
Process
Before any payment we will discuss the commission details and price to make sure we understand each
other. Feel free to ask any and all questions. c:
I will send the invoice after receiving the payment. The payment comes between the start of creating and
the end of Phase 1 of creating.
If important or key details have been missed (tattoos, scars, accessories, ...), it will be fixed without
charge if the missing component is clearly showcased in the reference, if these details were not provided
or not clear in the reference provided, this will incur a fee based on how long it will take to change.
The process:
Phase 1 - Rough Sketch
This stage consists of roughly sketched poses and very rough features such as the face
expressions. The sketch will include a watermark with a text “Commission do not use”. You are welcome
to ask for modifications at this stage as we’re trying to make the illustration what you have in mind. This
is also the last moment to give the full payment.
Phase 2 - Clean Sketch
I refine the sketch, with the addition of a greyscale, for the client to have a better idea on how the
illustration would possibly turn out. At this stage the changes made can be slight, if the client requests too
many major changes the client may be charged modification fees.
Phase 3 - Colouring
I add the basic colouring to the sketch, send it to check if everything is correct. Changes are only
applicable to colours and very minor fixes.
Phase 4 - Finishing Up
I add the line art, lighting and the details, I create the requested atmosphere (if the background
option was requested). Only minor changes are allowed (minor colour change, lighting and contrast fixes,
...). After I’m finished I send the final pieces.
